Economic impact is the financial outcome that an activity, operation, or event has on a person, community, society, or situation, especially something new and fresh. It can be tracked and or measured by the increase in jobs, incomes, and output produced. 

This course presents critical problem-solving methodologies, including field research and data collection methods that enhance the performance of their communities. Topics include quantitative analysis, statistical and quality tools. Leaders will improve their abilities to use data to make informed decisions.

This session covers practical approaches to analysis and decision-making in the administration of government/private funds, including capital budgeting, working capital management, local government funds and cost of capital. The session will improve participant’s ability to interpret financial statements and manage community finances efficiently and effectively.

Learners will learn how to seek out ways to employ, deploy, and use technology to optimize individual citizens’ success and largely the community’s performance and progress. Leaders will use technology to initiate, execute, make data driven decisions, and to work on programs that will benefit the population.

Strong and effective organizational leadership entails a mastery of team and group underpinnings. Economic impact studies are utilized to evaluate the impact or influence of new activities like: A new venture, business opening, a policy or any other operation, An enlargement of a manufacturing plant/facility or an operation.

Data Driven Decision Making
In this day and age, decisions have to be supported with facts and so leaders need to make decisions based on what concerns communities on the ground level. Design Thinking- The Power of Design

Leaders will use Design Thinking Strategies to solve complex and challenging problems in their neighborhoods. To help leaders to develop a growth mindset and important problem solving, analytical, and spatial thinking skills. This will help the communities solve some problems themselves and not wait for the central government direction.

Financial Management
Scarce resources have to be managed tightly so as to avoid waste and to the benefit of the community. This session covers practical approaches to analysis and decision-making in the administration of government funds, including capital budgeting, working capital management, local government funds and cost of capital. Topics include financial planning, management of working capital, analysis of investment opportunities, sources of long-term financing, government regulations, and global influences in their localities. This session will improve participant’s ability to interpret financial statements and manage community finances efficiently and effectively.
Communicating with Tact

This session will help leaders to learn and develop tact. Tact is the ability to deliver a difficult message in a way that takes into account other people's feelings and preserves relationships. It encompasses many things, such as emotional intelligence, discretion, compassion, honesty, and courtesy.

Leveraging Technology
Technology is pushing boundaries and frontiers- changing the goal post in a fast pace environment and in today’s world regardless of the field or industry. It is imperative for leaders to not only embrace but know how to leverage technology for progress and development. This session provides the opportunity to identify strategic opportunities and emerging technologies as participant’s research and propose IT implementation recommendations to support a growing community. Research, communication skills, and IT-related ethical use and security threats are important aspects of this session.
